Using Styrofoam to make Clean Water

One of the important solutions to marine litter is understanding that the issue is coupled with local development. Plastic is cheap, durable and versatile. These countries are drowning in plastic, while starving for infrastructure. The best to solve this is to take the garbage and turn it into something useful that will help further development.

More than 700 million people don’t have access to clean water. I don’t completely understand why (or how) this works, but it is cool, and innovative, and could turn into something important.
