The Telegraph: Seafood eaters ingest up to 11,000 tiny pieces of plastic each year

An article published on January 24, 2017 in the Telegraph discussing a recent study looking at microplastics in seafood and the potential for extreme human health risks. As of yet, no study has shown conclusive evidence that microplastics are causing health issues, but given what we know about how these particles attract harmful chemicals, it would  be surprising if there was no effect.
